As of today, all is right with the world again – or, at least, the rock world – as DTE Energy Music Theatre’s name has officially been changed back to Pine Knob. Yes, it’s true! Shout for joy, because Pine Knob is back. It’s all part of the venue’s 50th anniversary celebration, which takes place all year.

The venue made the announcement at 7 a.m. Friday (Jan. 14) by uploading a new profile photo to its social media accounts featuring a retro-looking Pine Knob logo. “Designed by Troy-based Simons-Michelson-Zieve Inc. (SMZ), Pine Knob Music Theatre’s new logo pays homage to the venue’s rich 50-year history with a fresh new touch, and embodies 313 Presents’ mission to provide access to amazing entertainment and alive moments inspired by the soul of Detroit,” according to a statement. View the cool-looking logo below. It kind of feels like my childhood has returned, since my first shows at DTE were when it was called Pine Knob. It’s going to be extra special seeing a show at the venue this summer, knowing it’s back to its original moniker!

Let’s go back to a few months ago and check out photos of KISS at what is now called “Pine Knob!”

313 Presents has entered into multi-year corporate partnership agreements with United Wholesale Mortgage and Trinity Health, making them the official Proud Partners of Pine Knob Music Theatre.
