WDIV-TV (Channel 4) reporter Larry Spruill has announced he's leaving the station. His last day is Dec. 31.

Spruill joined the WDIV-TV team in 2018 during the polar vortex. He graduated from Valdosta State University in Georgia, and worked at WJAX-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, before heading to Detroit.

There's "no other news market like the Motor City," he said in his Facebook post, also saying that he has "grown tremendously" since coming to the Motor City and that "there were good and bad times over the last four years but I learned and appreciated all of those experiences."

He added, "But to all of the Detroiters, who watched me every night, trusted me to tell their stories, those who said hi to me, when they saw me, the e-mails.. Thank you!"
