AAA has revealed their 2021 holiday travel predictions, and in it, they give us insight into when to travel- and when to stay home. I've been caught in many traffic jams over holiday weekends over the years, and I'm sure you have, too, so this advice is very welcomed.

There are only two days in the upcoming weeks that will have low traffic, according to AAA: Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

If you're traveling outside of those days, AAA has some suggestions of when to hit the road, which you'll find below.

When it comes to the "Worst Corridors and Times to Travel," AAA says Michiganders traveling through Detroit should avoid US-23 North between 8 Mile Rd to I-96 on Thursday (Dec. 23) from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. That actually surprises me, because I figured most people would be on the road Christmas Eve.

Read on for the best and worst times to travel this holiday season. Drive safe!

10 Things We Love About Michigan in the Winter

Anne Erickson started her radio career shortly after graduating from Michigan State University and has worked on-air in Detroit, Flint, Toledo, Lansing and beyond. As someone who absolutely loves rock, metal and alt music, she instantly fell in love with radio and hasn’t looked back. When she’s not working, Anne makes her own music with her band, Upon Wings, and she also loves cheering on her favorite Detroit and Michigan sports teams, especially Lions and MSU football. Anne is also an award-winning journalist, and her byline has run in a variety of national publications. You can also hear her weekends on WRIF.
