Jim Harbaugh Gets $1 Million If He Wins a Big Ten Championship, And He’ll Give It Back to Michigan Athletics Employees
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is riding high these days, following his big win against Ohio State last weekend and upcoming Big Ten championship game.
Now, Harbaugh is going to give back. He says he plans to give any bonus money he takes in this season to athletic department employees whose pay was cut due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Whether it’s folks that work here in football or our ticket department, baseball coaches…so many people that my wife has gotten very close to, (our) kids have, really just our family contribution to those who have had some financial strain through the past 18 months,” Harbaugh said during his weekly radio show.
Harbaugh’s contract includes $500,000 bonuses for scoring the Big Ten East Division and reaching the College Football Playoff. He gets a $1 million bonuses for scoring a Big Ten championship and a CFP National Championship.
