According to the Royal Oak Police Department, local police have caught the large African cat that had escaped a Royal Oak home and was walking around the city, notably, near a Royal Oak Elementary School.

According to officers, the cat was captured around 11 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 13) and is back with its owner.

The Royal Oak Police Department sent out a warning to residents early in the day Wednesday to watch out for the large, African caracal cat.

Now, some legal battles are mounting regarding the cat and its owner. According to the Free Press, Royal Oak police have given Westfall five citations and given her until Monday to have the cats leave the neighborhood.
