The Royal Oak Police Department is warning residents to watch out for a large, African caracal cat domesticated cat that is on the loose.

A Royal Oak resident who has four of these caracal cats has actually had two recently escape. One is back home, but the other is still out and about.

The Royal Oak Schools were also alerted, since there's an elementary school in the area.

"Do not approach the animal, and if spotted, please call 911 and let them know," Royal Oak Schools stated on Facebook. "As with any unfamiliar animal, please advise children not to approach or attempt to interact with the cat."
