Dave Grohl is among the many fans excited about the reunion of the iconic pop group ABBA after they disbanded nearly 40 years ago.

When asked what he thought of their newly released singles — “I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down” — Grohl told BBC News, “Oh my god, I’m such a big ABBA fan. When I saw that they were coming back and they had a record, I shot that link to 100 people I knew, then listened to the new song and wept like a baby. I cried like a baby. Oh man!”

When asked why he was so moved, Grohl responded, “It almost sounded like time hadn’t passed. Plus it was such a beautiful, romantic, melancholy, bitter-sweet retrospective. Ugh, it’s amazing. Abba can do no wrong.”

At the possibility of playing drums for ABBA, Grohl enthusiastically said, “Listen, I will get up and play drums at the opening of an envelope. Show me a drum set and I will sit down to it. So yes, I would play with ABBA.”

As previously reported, ABBA announced the November 5 release of Voyage, a new album featuring ten new tracks. Also in store for fans is a very unique concert dubbed ABBA Voyage. Per Rolling Stone, “ABBA will also perform a digital concert on May 27th, 2022 — which they first announced in 2016. Made through George Lucas’ Industry Light & Magic, ‘Abba Voyage’ will take place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s arena in London. General tickets are available on September 7th.”

ABBA said in a statement on this historic news, “It’s been a while since we made music together. Almost 40 years, actually. We took a break in the spring of 1982 and now we’ve decided it’s time to end it. They say it’s foolhardy to wait more than 40 years between albums, so we’ve recorded a follow-up to ‘The Visitors.’ We simply call it ‘Voyage’ and we’re truly sailing in uncharted waters.”
