Seth Rogen attends the Los Angeles Premiere of "How It Ends" at NeueHouse Los Angeles on July 15, 2021 in Hollywood, California.

Seth Rogen kicked off the start of September with a shock to fans — by cutting down his signature beard and curly, fluffy hair.

The 39-year-old comedic actor debuted his new look on Instagram yesterday (September 1) and in pure Rogen fashion inserted a little bit of humor into the post.

“New hair, same smoldering look,” he captioned the selfie, indeed smoldering at himself.

Rogen’s bushy beard and fluffy hair are no more, as they’ve been trimmed down significantly for a sleeker Seth — all that’s left of his facial hair is some stubble. He sported his classic laid-back look (both bearded and not) for over a decade. Fans first got a look at his style with Scotty the Cameraman in the 2004 comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy before his breakout role in 2007’s Knocked Up.

Over the years, Rogen has been a part of Hollywood’s most successful comedies including 2007’s Superbad and 2008’s Pineapple Express.

Rogen’s upcoming project is a Steven Spielberg-directed coming-of-age drama called The Fabelmans, which premieres next year. He is also working on a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot with his personal production company Point Grey Pictures and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. The film hits theaters on August 11, 2023.

In his downtime, Rogen enjoys creating beautiful and sometimes very abstract works of pottery.
