Here’s Where Michigan Ranks for Women’s Equality, According to a New Study

Michigan has made it into the top 10 when it comes to the best states for women’s equality.
The folks at financial website WalletHub recently compared all 50 U.S. states for women’s equality in three key dimensions: workplace environment, education and health and political empowerment.
“Women make up more than 50 percent of the population, but constitute only around 27% of legislators and 25 percent of Fortune 500 board seats,” the study states, pointing out some current inequalities.
Michigan came in at No. 9 overall and No. 3 for “political empowerment.”
The top five best states for women’s equality are Nevada, Hawaii, Vermont, Maine and New York. Utah came in last.
