Belle Isle Beach Temporarily Closed Due to High E. Coli Levels
Belle Isle in Detroit is a unique island that is also a park right in between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It is home to the Detroit Grand Prix and you can also enjoy loads of other entertainment like hanging on the beach, golf, bike riding, picnics, kayaking, aquarium, green house observatory, tennis, baseball fields and tons more.
Belle Isle Beach is temporarily closed until further notice because of high levels of E. coli in the lake.
According to the Detroit Health Department, the levels are higher than what is safe for swimming.
“The DNR has closed Belle Isle and posted signs advising visitors not to swim,” they said in a statement. “The beach will remain closed until sample results show safe E. coli levels.”
