Top Cities for Singles – Where Does Detroit Rank?
If you’re single and in Detroit, chances are you’ve wondered if the Motor City is a good place to find true love.
The folks at Clever Real Estate set out to determine the best cities in the U.S. for singles. They analyzed publicly available data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Census, Yelp, and the Black Tux to rank the 50 most populous metro areas in the U.S. according to how great they are for singles.
Detroit landed at No. 30 on the list. Not so great, but hey, at least we’re not No. 50 like San Jose, California.
No. 1 went to New Orleans, followed by Milwaukee, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Austin, Providence, Cleveland, Denver, Virginia Beach and Oklahoma City.
A typical date night costs $112.53 across the 50 most populous metro areas in the U.S., according to Clever Real Estate. Honestly, that seems very high. I highly doubt any of the dates I’ve been on have cost that much, unless they involved a concert or sporting event.
