Barcade Detroit is finally coming to Detroit.

The new arcade will open its doors on Monday, Aug. 23, according to a post on the arcade's social media accounts.

Barcade, which calls itself as the original “arcade bar,” first opened in 2004 in Brooklyn, New York. The concept is to bring customers together with classic arcade games and great craft beer.

The Detroit location, which has been in the works for several years, will mark the New York brand's first Midwest location. It will be located at the former Smith Welding Supply Co. at 666 Selden St.
