How does Michigan rank when it comes to being a great state to do business?

The folks at CNBC looked at all 50 states and ranked them on 85 metrics in 10 categories of competitiveness to determine just that.

“Each category is weighted based on how frequently states use them as a selling point in economic development marketing materials,” CNBC states.

“Our study is not an opinion survey,” they added. “We use data from a variety of sources to measure the states’ performance. Under our methodology, states can earn a maximum of 2,500 points. The states with the most are America’s Top States for Business.”

So, where does Michigan rank? Pretty well!

Michigan is the No. 11 best state to do business in, according to the study. Nice!

1. Virginia
2. North Carolina
3. Utah
4. Texas
5. Tennessee
6. Georgia
7. Minnesota
8. Colorado
9. Washington
10. Ohio
