Beacon Park is hosting a new art installation called "Bounce" by New York City-based, award-winning design studio Hou de Sousa.

The installation is dynamic, in that the shadows and lighting change based on the time of day.

To celebrate the opening of the installation, Beacon Park will host an opening reception Friday (June 4) starting at 6 p.m. and running through 8 p.m., featuring a performance by reed quintet Akropolis Reed Quintet and remarks by Hou de Sousa.

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available for purchase at Lumen Detroit.

The installation will stay open through Sept. 13.
