Happy Cinco de Mayo! We have so many great Mexican restaurants throughout metro Detroit. Read on for a few of our favorites. What’s your choice spot to get a Mexican meal?

El Asador Steakhouse

Location: 1312 Springwells St., Detroit

El Asador Steakhouse is one of southwestern Detroit’s most beloved spots. They take a fresh approach to Mexican Cusine and “believe that good food is an ingredient in itself, and it should be treated with awe and love,” according to their official website. We love their Original Taco, featuring ground beef or shredded chicken, hard corn or soft flour tortilla shell topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, sour cream and cheese.

El Barzón Restaurante

Location: 3710 Junction St., Detroit

El Barzon Restaurante has been rocking it in the Motor City since 2007. They offer both traditional Mexican and Italian dishes, so there’s truly something for everyone. We love the Chiles Rellenos, a poblano pepper filed with ground beef or cheese finished with their homemade tomato sauce.
