It's official: Penei Sewell is a Detroit Lion.
The Lions picked the Oregon offensive tackle with the seventh pick of the first round. From the looks of all the celebrating inside the Lions' camp, it appears they got their first choice and were relieved another team didn't scoop him up first.
Many consider Sewell the best lineman in the draft. He's 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, and started in 20 of 21 games in the past two seasons with Oregon.
Sewell was also a first-team All-American in 2019.
The upcoming season will bring much newness for the Lions, as the team is under the guidance of new general manager Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell.
The Lions have five remaining picks in draft rounds two through five.
