Downtown Detroit is Getting Free Electric Carts
Beginning April 1, Gest electric carts will be available as a transportation means for people heading to a variety Detroit hotspots and neighborhoods, including downtown, Eastern Market, Corktown and Midtown.
The rides are free to the rider, to boot.
Right now, Detroit is getting two carts, and both of them are heated and weather-proof. They can get up to 25 miles per hour and transport 5 to 7 passengers.
To snag the cart, you need to download the app via Apple or Google Play. Driver tips are encouraged.
Starting April 1, the carts will be in operation from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
