A growing number of outlets -- including the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal -- are reporting that the IRS is going to delay the April 15 tax-filing deadline until mid-May.

While there's has been no official announcement from the IRS about a delay, accountants and lawmakers have already asked for an extension due to the complex tax situation resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The IRS has also been busy the past week pushing out stimulus checks to millions of Americans.

Last year's deadline to file 2019 taxes was pushed to July 15 due to COVID-19.
