Covid Craziness – Teenager Jailed In Cayman Islands
A Georgia woman has been sentenced to four months in a Cayman Islands prison for violating the British territory’s coronavirus restrictions. Cayman prosecutors say 18-year-old Skylar Mack flew in last month to attend her boyfriend’s jet ski competition and ignored the islands’ two-week quarantine rule for all incoming visitors. She was also seen interacting with the public without wearing a mask, court paperwork reveals.
“This was as flagrant a breach as could be imagined,” Justice Roger Chapple said when handing down the sentence. “It was born of selfishness and arrogance.” Mack’s boyfriend, a 24-year-old Cayman Islands resident, was also given a four-month sentence.
