As I celebrate my 25th anniversary at WRIF, I just wanted to say THANK YOU!

Thank You to all the listeners who've come up to say "Hello" over the years.

Thank You for reaching out to me on social media.

Thank You for all the kindness you've shown to this out-of-towner for a quarter century.

Thank You for every drink you've bought me.

Thank You for the years of listening.

Thank You for you kindness towards my family.

Thank You to all the media friends I've made in Detroit.

Thank You to everyone I've been able to share the ice with.

Thank You to all the current and past co-workers I've had the privilege to be on WRIF with. Every last one of you!

Thank You for not booing me when I do stage announcements. :)

I remember the first time I came to Detroit like it was yesterday. I left my house in Western New York, in the country, to driving around 696 and Telegraph 6 hours later. My head was spinning. I didn't know what to expect or how long I could "tough it out". I'm proud of the fact that I did. I can't believe it's been a quarter century.

Thank you, Detroit!

Meltdown started on the mighty WRIF on the evening of Halloween, 1995. Technically, his first on-air shift was the morning of November 1st. Moving to the Motor City from Buffalo, N.Y., he has built a career and family. Over his almost three-decade stint at RIFF, he's had the privilege to work with some of the biggest personalities in Detroit radio history. He boasts of being just the second-afternoon drive jock in the station's illustrious 53-year history. Along with his love for rock music and attending concerts, he's also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and hockey player. He plays year-round and manages to squeeze in a few charity games throughout the year. Meltdown writes about the Detroit Red Wings, rock music, and Detroit concert venues.
