Weekends

If Tiger King has taught us anything it’s that there is a ferocious appetite for news stories about people and animals acting badly and the wild happenstance of life. In that spirit each night during the 9 and 10 o’clock hour I enjoy playing a game with you, the listener, called Florida or Australia. The rules are simple: I’ll tell you about a news story on the air and you text or call in and tell me if you think the story happened in Florida or Australia.(because those two places seem to have a high concentration of craziness.) Here are tonight’s stories:

Bulldozer thief drove through Florida town allegedly digging up Biden-Harris campaign signs

One man's bulldozer rampage across a Central Florida town destroyed several front yards and multiple Biden-Harris campaign signs, according to Haines City Police. James Blight, 26, was arrested and charged Saturday with grand theft auto and trespassing, with additional charges possible, Mike Ferguson, public information officer for the Haines City Police, said in an email Monday.

Thief's big mistake left behind in Tesla

A Canberra radio presenter has taken down an aspiring Tesla thief after they forgot one of the carmaker's main draws - and then left personal effects behind in the abandoned car. Mix 106.3 Drive show presenter Annabelle Brett received a number of alarming notifications from the Tesla app on her phone at around 6.20am on Thursday morning.

Be sure to tune in Monday through Friday nights at 9 and 10pm if you want to play along.
