Since I started at WRIF, the Red Wings have won four Stanley Cups. Coincidence....I think not!

In all seriousness, I could write a book of all the great times and people I've met, not only through my hockey, but through my kid's hockey as well. I often tell people that coaching my daughter's hockey team may be one of the most rewarding things I've done as a parent. It gave me much more than I ever thought it would.

I had the chance to play with the NHL guys three days a week during the 04/05 lockout. Man, what great memories to be able to play with legends.

Funny enough, Darren McCarty is one of my oldest friends in Detroit. I met him one late night at the radio station...long story.

Here's just a few pictures of my time on ice..........(w/ Igor Larionov..w/ Dino Ciccarelli & Joey Kocur..w/ Brent Fedyk, Eddie Mio and Dani Probert..w/ Steve Yzerman..w/ Dave Wellington at the Dave Coulier charity game..w/ Darren McCarty and Robbie Merrill from Godsmack)

Oh, and who could forget February 5th, 2005 when I played a pro game for the Motor City Mechanics. Ok, "played" might be a little bit of a stretch. I started the game. Lots of memories from that night.

Meltdown started on the mighty WRIF on the evening of Halloween, 1995. Technically, his first on-air shift was the morning of November 1st. Moving to the Motor City from Buffalo, N.Y., he has built a career and family. Over his almost three-decade stint at RIFF, he's had the privilege to work with some of the biggest personalities in Detroit radio history. He boasts of being just the second-afternoon drive jock in the station's illustrious 53-year history. Along with his love for rock music and attending concerts, he's also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and hockey player. He plays year-round and manages to squeeze in a few charity games throughout the year. Meltdown writes about the Detroit Red Wings, rock music, and Detroit concert venues.
