If Tiger King has taught us anything it’s that there is a ferocious appetite for news stories about people and animals acting badly and the wild happenstance of life. In that spirit each night during the 9 and 10 o’clock hour I enjoy playing a game with you, the listener, called Florida or Australia. The rules are simple: I’ll tell you about a news story on the air and you text or call in and tell me if you think the story happened in Florida or Australia.(because those two places seem to have a high concentration of craziness.) Here are tonight’s stories:

Christian worker who watched porn to relieve stress of job has stroke in office

A worker at a conservative Christian organisation who relied on pornography to relieve his stress has won compensation after suffering a stroke in the office. Michael Bowker, 47, served as national office manager for Family Voice Australia in Adelaide when he collapsed in April 2016.

Huntsman hero recognised with PETA award for getting spider back on its feet

When Elina Walsh found an emaciated huntsman spider with only two legs, she did what most people would never consider doing - she saved its life. The Townsville resident has now been recognised by animal rights group PETA Australia for her efforts in rescuing and rehabilitating the injured spider.

Be sure to tune in Monday through Friday nights at 9 and 10pm if you want to play along.
