More than two decades after "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air" wrapped up its six-year season on television, the show is poised to make a return-- but with a twist.

According to Deadline, the new show, "Bel-Air," will be an hourlong series based on Morgan Cooper's famed fan movie that depicts the '90s sitcom as a drama.

The project comes via Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith's Westbrook Studios and Universal Television. Deadline reports that the series is currently being pitched to streamers, with Netflix, Peacock, HBO Max, Amazon and Apple all taking interest, so we'll have to wait and see which streaming service snags it.

Cooper is slated to direct and co-executive produce "Bel-Air," and he's co-writing the series with Chris Collins.

Would you be game for a darker remake of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?"
