The World’s Last Surviving Blockbuster Has Been Converted Into an Airbnb
If your idea of fun is sleeping over at a Blockbuster video store and watching VH1 tapes all night, then the last standing Blockbuster has you covered.
Blockbuster store manager Sandi Harding has reportedly converted a portion of that final store — which is located in Bend, Oregon — into a nostalgic living room resort with a pull-out couch, a TV, snacks and full access to the store’s full catalog. The news comes via a new Airbnb ad, which calls the experience the “End of Summer Sleepover.”
For now, the experience is available for residents of Deschutes County only. Insert sad face here! But, we’ll have to wait and see if the opportunity gets extended to other areas.
The overnight experience is also a “thank you” to residents of Deschutes County for keeping the final Blockbuster alive.
