More ‘Stadium Tour’ Shows Could Be Announced for 2021

Author Erica Banas // Rock Music Reporter
July 14th, 2020 10:30 AM

“The Stadium Tour” featuring Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts was pushed back to the summer of 2021, but more dates might be announced in the near future.

Poison’s Rikki Rockett said in a new interview, “It looks like we’re probably gonna do more shows next year, so that part of it’s good. Def Leppard was out last year, and we weren’t, so that was kind of a letdown for me, because we didn’t get out there last year. But it is what it is.”

“The Stadium Tour” was setting itself up to be one of the biggest tours this summer, but like every other major tour, it has been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Currently, there are 30 stops on “The Stadium Tour” hitting up some of the biggest and historic stadiums in the United States.

Of course, everyone hopes touring schedules will return to normal by this time next summer, but nothing is certain. Def Leppard’s Phil Collen said in a recent interview regarding whether “The Stadium Tour” will actually take place in 2021, “I honestly don’t know. I’d say it’s 50/50. If everyone does what they are supposed to do, then we will be there next summer.”

And by “if everyone does what they are supposed to do,” Collen likely is referring to all of the various guidelines many of us have been living with for quite some time now, from social distancing to washing hands regularly to wearing a mask in public, enclosed spaces.
