NASA is prepping for a major mission to outer space, and to help astronauts know what to expect when they get there, NASA has designed a new perform that actually smells like outer space.

The fragrance, "Eau de Space," was initially developed by Steve Pearce years ago, when his company worked with NASA to develop the smell of space. Now, that fragrance is finally getting released.

The space-y scent is being released via Kickstarter to help promote STEM learning in K-12 students.

The Kickstarter has already raised more than $43,000, far above its goal of $1,969. They've teamed up with fragrance manufacturers to get the scent to the masses, but need some cash to get it produced, which is why they launched the Kickstarter.

Giving $15 to the Kickstarter campaign will score you one Eau de Space. Other packages are available, too.
