Meltdown’s June Music Challenge – Great Albums From A Band On Its Second Singer
Why can’t we all just get along? It seems that being in a band is a lot like being married to the other guys. For whatever reason, not many make it with the original members.
Today it’s all about the second singer. Here’s a couple of my faves from this category…
This may be my favorite. Heaven and Hell with Ronnie James Dio is an awesome album. Ronnie had big shoes to fill. He did, and then some.
Another famous singer swap is Sammy Hagar after David Lee Roth. It was either this one or For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. I love that record, but this one feels more organic to me.
This may be one of the biggest boosts as far as a second singer goes. When Brian Johnson joined AC/DC after Bon Scott’s death, they released one of the top selling rock albums of all time, Back in Black. While that album is a masterpiece, I’m going with this classic.
What say you? #MeltdownsJMC
