In the history of rock, creepiness, horror, evil, have all been staples of a certain portion of it. To me, it was all about Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper growing up. Toss in a multitude of other bands. Iron Maiden, Ronnie James Dio, KISS, Marilyn Mason, Rob Zombie, Slayer and the list goes on and on.

Here's a couple of my faves. Welcome To My Nightmare is an Alice classic. The song "Steven" is just plain creepy. In a recent interview I did with Alice, he did pick this album as one of his favorites from his catalog.

What can be said about this Sabbath record that hasn't been said before. From it's opening title track with the rain, thunder and church bells, to the string bending noises Tony Iommi makes with his guitar, it's just a solid hard rock album. Man, this one oozes of 1970's darkness. This particular album was given to me by a friend. It's a copy from Holland.
