Roger Waters Plays Pink Floyd’s ‘Mother’ In Quarantine
Pink Floyd were part of the 1996 induction class, but there were still major tensions in the band due to a 1986 lawsuit in which Waters lost against David Gilmour and Nick Mason over the use of their band name. The band would eventually reunite in 2005 for the Live 8 benefit concert.
Had the coronavirus outbreak not turned into a pandemic, Roger Waters would be preparing to hit the road this summer.
However, his “This Is Not A Drill” tour is now postponed until next year. The legendary bassist isn’t just sitting back though. He’s actually keeping quite busy, as he recently told Rolling Stone. Taking to social media, Waters shared a new video of his self-isolated band performing a classic track from his Pink Floyd days. “Social distancing is a necessary evil in COVID world. Watching ‘Mother’ reminds me just how irreplaceable the joy of being in a band is,” Waters captions the post.

Jade was born and raised in Detroit Rock City and grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, The Who, Tom Petty, etc. In high school she tried multiple different styles from cheerleader to goth but couldn’t do gymnastics and couldn’t get her eyeliner dark enough. She settled on jeans and a t-shirt, playing sports and making normal situations overly awkward. When she’s not making bad jokes on the radio you can find her shanking golf balls into the woods on the golf course and drinking beers at the bar. She has a strict two shot limit when it comes to tequila. Jade enjoys writing and talking about everything happening in Detroit Rock City, our Detroit sports teams, golf, and her fear of robots.
