I hope this finds you well. I took advantage of the nice day yesterday and put some miles on the bicycle. I chipped away at another 27 miles which puts me at 335 road miles for the year.

Well, one thing this day will always mean to me is it's the day Chris Cornell played his final show. I'm so glad I was there to see it, three years ago today. I'll never forget the first time I played "Outshined" on the radio. I was blown away. It reminded me of a modern day Black Sabbath. Thick, full guitars with a higher register singer. I became a Soundgarden fan instantly. R.I.P. Chris.

Chris and I in 2013.

The Pretty Reckless opened the show that day. I LOVE their last album. A new one is on the way from the band, but in the meantime they dropped a single a few days ago and it is a smoker! Check out "Death By Rock And Roll" here.

The same night Soundgarden and The Pretty Reckless were playing the Fox Theater, Hall & Oates were playing down the street at the Joe and one of my friends was there. You'll never believe who.

A month or so before the May 17th shows, I was waiting in a car dealership parking lot for one of my friends. As I waited my phone rang with a 248 number. Since it was local I answered it. The voice on the other end starts singing at the top of his lungs "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". At this point I'm very confused. The caller then stops singing and says "Meltdown, it's Fehn from Slipknot! I got a new number". It was the former Slipknot percussionist, Chris Fehn, aka #3. He's a local guy. Here's where it really gets weird, he was calling to see if I had any connections to Hall & Oates tickets...for him! He told me how much he loved them. Too funny! He did end up getting tickets and went to see the show while I was watching the final performance of a grunge legend on the other side of town.

#3 and me watching Judas Priest in 2018.
