I had a great conversation with Shinedown singer, Brent Smith yesterday on the WRIF Instagram. You can watch it here or check out my Talkin' Rock podcast later today to listen to it. Shinedown and RIFF go back many years to their first album Leave A Whisper. I mentioned a signed poster they gave me way back when...this is it.

I finished Dead To Me last night. That's a dark comedy on Netflix staring Christina Applegate. With ten thirty minute episodes per season you can blast through them pretty quickly. I'd say give it a look if you haven't yet.

Well, this week we would've gone to see Five Finger, Papa Roach and I Prevail at the LCA, along with the Foo Fighters this weekend. Crazy to think we'd be longing for some overpriced beers, inconvenient parking situations, and crowded bathrooms. Now, all of those things sound good to me!

Everyone, have a safe and fun weekend. I have some great interviews lined up for next week for the podcast and possibly some for the Gram. Plus, I'm kicking around telling a story about an outdoor concert 8 years ago. I got home at 7:30 am the next day. That would be a multi-blog story.

Moving to the Motor City from Buffalo, N.Y., he has built a career and family. He boasts of being just the second-afternoon drive jock in the station's illustrious 53-year history. Along with his love for rock music and attending concerts, he's also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and hockey player. He plays year-round and manages to squeeze in a few charity games throughout the year. Meltdown writes about the Detroit Red Wings, rock music, and Detroit concert venues.
