Rivers Cuomo has been keeping busy during the coronavirus by hosting periodic Zoom calls appropriately called “Island in the Zoom with Rivers Cuomo.” On his latest Zoom, he performed a piano cover of the Nirvana classic “Heart-Shaped Box.”

This isn’t the first time Cuomo has covered Nirvana live. Weezer famously covered “Lithium” at 2019’s Rock in Rio where the band also shared the bill with the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl would dedicate “Big Me” to Weezer during the Foo’s set and said, “Tonight I’m gonna dedicate this one to Weezer. I was backstage and I heard Weezer play the ‘Lithium’ song. I gotta be honest, I cried a little bit. I did! I miss playing that song. I miss it, so I’m happy to hear Weezer play it again. So this one goes out to the sweet Weezer.”
