Jeff Daniels recently penned a song dedicated to late Tigers great Al Kaline, and now, the folks at the Baseball Hall of Fame have taken notice.

After hearing the song, “Al Kaline,” the Hall of Fame asked Daniels for his original lyrics for their Kaline exhibit.

“So I said, ‘How much?’ No, I’m kidding. I didn’t,” he laughed in a video about the honor. “I couldn’t believe it. It will be a part of Al Kaline’s display.”

“I couldn’t get it into an envelope and into the mail fast enough,” he added.

Daniels announced the good news during his virtual, live concert from his Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea.
