Since many of us have been stuck inside a lot, it's a good time to get active, and what better way to do that than with some metal music?

As long as you're listening to something with a fast tempo, you should be good. Speed metal and power metal are highly recommended.

Here are five of my favorite metal bands to crank while working out. I mean, everyone works out to Gwar, right?

Amon Armath

Anything by Viking metallers Amon Amarth is great for working out. The beats just beg you to pump, lift and repeat.

Gwar

I find Gwar's heavy sounds to be great running music. Give it a try- you won't be disappointed!

Mastodon

With Mastodon, you have an array of sounds and styles, so the trick it to pick one of their tracks that emphasizes steady, heavy beats. This one is perfect.

Static-X

The industrial metal beats in Static-X's music get a workout really moving. Rest in peace, Wayne Static.

Trivium

Trivium just released a new album, "What the Dead Men Say," and the album's fast riffing and solid beats are perfect for a light jog.
