After a few suggestions from friends and seeing it over and over on my Netflix, I've started watching "Waco". I'm four eps in, two to go. So far it's very interesting. I'm always skeptical when it comes to reenactments of things that the producer may really have no clue about. Like what happened in the compound and private conversations. Anyway, I think I'm going to wrap it up tonight.

Happy Birthday to the legend, Nick Lidstrom. He turns the big 5-0 and could probably still play in today's league.

A quick story behind this picture. It was taken on MLK day around 2011. My son - who's now 4 inches taller than me - insisted on wearing that ridiculous hat. At the time Nick was being filmed for the "NHL 36" series were they would follow an all-star player around for 36 hours. The Wings had just beaten the Sabres 5-0 and were about to head to Dallas, if memory serves. I asked Nick were his film crew was. He pointed down the hall way about 40-50 feet or so. They waved and were filming the entire time. I was so excited to see the show..and we were cut out! On the editing room floor! They showed Nick walking out of the locker room and out the back door of the Joe. HAHA. I do have a face for radio, anyway.

Speaking of pictures, this one with KISS is one of my faves. It was taken in 2009, but the story of how I got it goes back to 1994. That's when I was interviewing Motley Crue, with singer John Corabi, live on the air. Off mic, Nikki Sixx keeps dropping F-bombs and then says there must be some "chickens around". He just keeps going "F*%#, F@&), F#^&". Fast forward to the early 2000's and Linkin Park is in town. Their manager, who was there managing the Crue in '94, stops me and refreshes my memory about the incident, which I had totally forgot about. Now, fast forward to 2009 with KISS at Cobo. I happen to spot the same manager and he remembers me right away. Just as I'm talking to him, the radio station photographer, Steve Gally, is walking by to do the meet and greet pictures and says to me "Come on, Meltdown...we're going to get pictures with KISS". I head back with him and about 5 minutes later I'm standing in front of the guys with their makeup on. I couldn't believe it. I've always wanted that picture. Steve, being the really nice guy he is, starts explaining to the guys in the band who I am and all I'm thinking is "TAKE THE PICTURE!"...LOL

The Stanley Cup Final games start tomorrow on Fox Sports Detroit. Oh, yes, I'll be blogging about them.
