Well, I got a lot of yard work done yesterday. Are we still allowed to do yard work? Put 25 more miles on my bicycle. Are we allowed to ride our bikes?

Anyway, I did get in a new Netflix movie. I watched "Extraction" last night. It's kinda what I figured it would be. A non-stop, shoot-em-up action movie. I'll admit, there were a few scenes that I jumped at. Overall it wasn't too bad. I give it a 6 1/2 out of 10. It's worth a "quarantine" watch.

One of my friends challenged me on Facebook to an album a day thing. You know, ten albums that greatly influenced my musical tastes. Today, I posted the album Facelift from Alice in Chains. The first single the band ever released was the first track off the album, "We Die Young". I saw them on the aptly named 'Clash of the Titans' tour with Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth not long after their debut album came out. The thrash fans did not treat a very new AIC well. I've talked about that tour with a members of each band. Jerry Cantrell told me that was were the band "really earned their bones". Dave Lombardo recalls listening to new music with the guys and really be blown away by it. That new music would become the classic, Dirt. There's stories of Layne Staley singing the set with a hoodie pulled tight around his face - like Kenny from South Park - because the fans were throwing all sorts of stuff on stage.

By the way, that may be the first big stage I ever did an announcement from. I have a Polaroid picture someone took of me onstage, somewhere.

My Alice In Chains shelf. Sean Kinney, Jerry Cantrell, William DuVall and Mike Inez.

For another great Alice story from their show when they opened for KISS at Tiger Stadium in 1996, check out my blog from a few days ago here.

Last week was a big one for my Talkin' Rock podcast with guests Michael Poulsen from Volbeat, Sully Erna from Godsmack and Tyler Connoly from Theory of a Deadman. I just did an Instagram live interview with John Cooper from Skillet. I'll be posting that this week along with an interview I recently did with singer, Bobby Amaru from Saliva.
