Meltdown: Lock Down – Day 281
When I got home from work last night I binge watched the rest of the Netflix series, Godless. Man, Jeff Daniels is such a great actor! If you’re a Western fan, you’ll love it. I watched the final four episodes of the series and I can tell you it’s worth the look if you’re jones’n for a new show.

Eddie Van Halen is our RIFF of the day. It was on my Talkin’ Rock podcast from last fall where David Lee Roth summed up the VH situation as “Finished”. If it is, Eddie has given the world some GREAT, long-lasting rock songs that generations will listen to long after we’re gone. A true innovator at his craft. He’s definitely in my top 5, without question. I’ve only had the pleasure to meet Eddie once and he was very nice. Humble, quiet, soft spoken and a legend!
I’ll pass along this story from the original Shinedown guys, because they’ve relayed on it my podcast. They were touring with VH in the early 2000’s as they were just breaking into the business. As the story goes, Eddie came into their dressing room to welcome the guys to the tour. Singer, Brent Smith was in the bathroom when the guitar legend walked into the room. As he walked out of the restroom, with his hands still wet after washing them, he shook Eddie’s hand. Eddie said something along the lines of “Did you piss all over your hand?”. Brent laughed and responded “Yeah, Eddie, I pissed all over my hands before meeting you” LOL…Then, Eddie took his lit cigarette, wrapped it up in some sort of deli meat on their deli tray and proceeded to piss all over it to put it out. He told the guys to let their tour manager know that was called a “Smoking Gun”. LMAO!!!!
That’s the basic gist of the story, and like I said, they’ve all told me about it on the podcast. Too funny!
