Meltdown: Lockdown – Day 623
Lots to get to on today’s blog….the season finale of Better Call Saul was fantastic! Next season is shaping up to be great!
I got onto another Netflix series. Godless is a western from 2017, staring Jeff Daniels who leads his pack of thugs through the old-west stirring up trouble. First off, Jeff Daniels is such a great actor. Secondly, I got sucked into the story. Hell, there’s even a town made up of almost nothing but women! Check it out.
Our RIFF of the day is one of my faves, Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains. I’ve had some great interviews with Jerry.
I recall one time where he told me the best show they ever played in Detroit was the Tiger Stadium show opening for KISS. He said singer, Layne Staley, surveyed the crowd with people dressed as members of KISS and turned to Jerry and said “How come no one’s dressed like us?”. LOL I love how Jerry always introduces each member of the band on stage and always ends with “…and we’re Alice In Chains” and then rips into the next song. Classic!
Today it’s about songs with people’s names. Off the top of my head “Mr. Crowley” is one I like. I recently listened to a show about him. Talk about dark and evil. He makes Jeff Daniels “Frank Griffin” character in Godless look like a Boy Scout.
Lastly, I had two great interviews yesterday. Michael Poulsen from Volbeat was first. We talked about what he’s been doing during quarantine, the bands latest single, their success in America and lots more. Listen to my Talkin’ Rock interview here.
