Deftones Announce Twitch Livestream Series, Wrap Up Work on New Album

Deftones are still in the mixing phase for their upcoming album, set to drop later this year.

Things are taking a bit longer due to COVID-19, but while fans wait, the guys have announced a new Twitch livestream series to get up close — virtually, at least — with fans.

“Hope this message finds everyone doing well,” drummer Abe Cunningham said in a video on Instagram. “I wanted to give you guys a little update on our album. We’re currently mixing it. Given the current situation, it’s been a bit difficult to get everyone in the same room. We can’t. So, we’re at least still doing that. I wanted to thank you for your patience, obviously, and, of course, your interest in that. It’s coming.”

Deftones’ Twitch livestream series kicked off last night (April 17) with a DJ set by Deftones turntabalist and programmer Frank Delgado.
