Meltdown: Lockdown – Day Twenty Seven
I think with each passing day I get a little dumber. Like for example, yesterday I watched “Killer Clowns From Outer Space”. It was so bad I couldn’t shut it off! LOL If you’re looking to kill an hour and a half, give it a shot on Netflix. Bad acting, awful effects, terrible storyline, this movie has it all!
Today’s challenge for the 30 songs challenge is songs you never get tired of. For me, I think this challenge should be for songs that have been around for a while. There’s lots of newer songs I really like, but they haven’t had a chance to burnout on me. My choices off the top of my head are these two – The Eagles “Hotel California”. I can’t really pinpoint it, but I love the guitar solos on this one. Such a great song. Second, it’s Peter Frampton’s “Do You Feel Like We Do”. I really like the guitars work on this 14 minute beast. Of course, there’s tons of others from Metallica, to Ghost, to Tool, Alice in Chains and on and on. These are just two that come right to mind.
Today, we honor Randy Rhoads for our guitarist of the day. In my opinion, those first two solo Ozzy albums are flawless. Just the song “Diary of a Madman” shows Randy’s vast skill and influences. You’d be hard pressed to find a guitarist with so little, in the terms of work done, have such an impact on a complete generation of guitarists.
I just saw on my schedule that the press day for the Bob Probert Memorial ride was suppose to be this Wednesday. It’s a ride I’ve really grown to love. It’s great to get on the backroads of Windsor with some really nice people and pound out some miles. A couple years ago they let me co-captain the ride with NHL’r, Scott Parker. Here’s the speech I gave before heading out. Hopefully we’ll be riding soon!
