We're living in some strange times. A friend of mine, who is about half my age, told me that nothing like this has have happened before in his life. Ya think?! It's sure weird. I actually cancelled my vacation that was set for next week.
Back at work it was another day of very few people, with dimly lit hallways, and not a soul around. I've been doing a segment where I talk about positive or inspirational stories to come out of this whole thing. Every time I do I get a response from either a friend or listener thanking me for passing these stories along. I guess I'll keep trying to look on the bright side of this. Like the story of the strippers who are now delivering food in Portland, Oregon. It's called "Boober Eats". LOL
When I got home, the house was filled with Christmas music. Yes, my daughter is one of those people! HA! They say some folks are putting their Christmas lights back up (or just turning the ones back on that they never took down) to fill rooms with some positive light. Now the music, too?! Oh, well....if it helps people cope, more power to them.
I finished off the day trying to watch Mudbound on Netflix. Kind of a bummer of a movie, and long, I didn't finish it. I saw that Kid Rock was going live on the Gram around 10:30, so I hoped on to see what that was all about. He was DJing from his place down south. As I watched I realized he was just having fun while helping his fans forget what was going on around them. Very nice move. I know him enough to know that he's not doing this for himself, he's doing it to give people a little release in these weird times. I texted him this morning about the racks and racks of albums he has. He told me he's got about 3,500! Music oozes out of that guy's soul. The songs he was mixing last night were all over the place. Good for him!
I finished the night, like I do sometimes, with a big glass of bourbon. Last night's pick was called Larceny. Pretty tasty.
Off for the morning workout. I posted on Twitter last night for some band suggestions on the turntable. I think I'm ready to go......sucks not being able to play hockey.
