Yesterday at the station looked more like a Sunday, with regards to the few people on site. The lights in the hallways off, no one eating in the commons area, not a soul on my closed circuit monitors. I guess that's the new norm for the foreseeable future, hopefully not too long.
I was going to do some interviews, like I mentioned yesterday. The boss want us in the studios as little as possible so I cancelled them. My Talkin' Rock podcast is on hold for now.
As far as yesterday went, it was a ghost town at the station and around town. Not much traffic with a lot of places closed. I'll be honest, after all these years, even in the midst of a pandemic, I still LOVE going to work and doing my show. It is somewhat therapeutic. Just being in the studio, crankin' out tunes and interacting with people on social media. It still does it for me.
When I got home I finished this week's episode of Better Call Saul. That's good watching if you haven't seen it before. I kinda feel a little jealousy to people who haven't watched that or Breaking Bad. Just think, while you're holed up you could watch Saul then Bad and see the whole series!
Before bed I read a little more of the book Ghost Rider. It was written by RUSH drummer, Neil Peart. The book is from 2002, about Neil's 50,000 mile plus motorcycle ride he took after the passing of his daughter and wife. Neil's writing is so good. So descriptive you can almost picture yourself riding along with him. Two reasons I wanted to read this book - I heard how well written it was, and around this time of the year, I'm longing to get back on the motorcycle myself. This is a good way to ride from the comfort of my Rock Room!
We lost guitar legend, Randy Rhoads on this date in 1982. I think I found the theme for today's workout.
Talk to you guys today from 3-7pm on the might RIFF...stay safe.
