Staff Picks: Top 5 Bands Station Photographer Erik is Listening to During Lockdown

I'm a fan of a lot of music, and I usually try to dig deep for the bands you don’t hear to much about if at all. So, just sitting around and listening to music is a good escape from all of the news once in a while, and it’s what I normally do when I’m at home anyway. Here is a list of the bands I’m currently listening to, to kill some time.   

All Them Witches - Call it doom or stoner rock I guess, but I’ve really got into the more mellow sound lately. I discovered these guys last summer and can’t stop listening to them. I have tickets to see them at the Blind Pig on April 25th, and unfortunately, I don’t see this show happening.

Reignwolf - These guys are incredible. A photographer buddy of mine got me turned onto them after seeing some live shows. They are an amazing live band (from the photos and videos I’ve seen) and I actually have tickets to go see them in Dallas on April 20th with Rival Sons. Another show I don’t really see happening at the moment.

Whoopie Cat - Interesting band name with an even better sound. They’re another one of those stoner rock kinda bands I have been getting into lately. Their album “Illusion of Choice” is killer and a must listen!

The Black Keys - You can’t go wrong with the Black Keys any day. I’ve really dug the new album "Let's Rock" lately and really hope they keep their current tour schedule in place so I can photograph them again later this summer.

The Misfits - As far as bands from my childhood go, these guys have been in heavy rotation with Deftones, Pantera and Clutch. Even more so since they have done reunion shows the last few years. I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for a show to pop up in Detroit (I would die if this happened). Someone please make that happen once this coronavirus passes!!!
