Meltdown’s Thursday Top 3: Top 3 Hair Bands
Since I’m broadcasting this week at Lady Jane’s HQ in Birmingham, I thought I’d post about hair bands and my faves….
#3 – RATT. I always loved them and never thought they got the respect, or achieved the success they should’ve. I recently told Stephen Pearcy about the first video I ever saw on MTV – “Round and Round”.
#2 – Motley Crue. The second band I ever saw live after Waysted, as they opened for Ozzy in 1984. What more needs to be said about these guys, especially if you saw “The Dirt”.
#1 – Cinderella. I know Tom’s not crazy about the ‘hair band’ moniker. They really wrote great, blues-driven songs that rocked. So many classics, and who couldn’t forget the way they swung their guitars around their necks. By the way, speaking of Tom, he put out a great album with his band last fall called “Rise”. I highly recommend it.
There’s some others that were big with me. Twisted Sister, Scorpions, Whitesnake and so on. Great era. I love to visit ever once in a while, but love lots of newer rock, too.
