Screamin’ Scott’s Pic of the Week: Gary Spaniola of B.S.A.
This pic comes from one of my early local influences. One of the great local bands I followed in high school was a local band called “BSA,” Bitter Sweet Ally.
Original music was a big part around the Motor City in the 80’s with bands like The Almighty Strut, Halloween, Toby Redd, The Push Band, Madem X, Seduce and more. One guitar player stood out as he would rip through solos with a flashy black Les Paul guitar. The summer of 1982 theme song over the WRIF airwaves was a hit titled “Time to Move.” Gary Spaniola went on to be a noted producer that awarded him a gold record for a band called “Ready for the World.” He also worked with Insane Clown Posse, Alto Redd, Barret Strong and many more artists nationwide. I got this pic back at a 1982 WRIF Football Strike party in the parking lot of the Pontiac Silverdome with a host of local bands with “B.S.A.”
