A terminally-ill “Star Wars” fan got to see “The Rise of Skywalker” early
Disney made a terminally ill Star Wars fans dreams come true. The fans last wish was to be able to see the new Star Wars film “The Rise of Skywalker” (due in theaters December 20th) and Disney allowed him and his family a private screening of the film in his hospice on Thanksgiving.
The wife of the fan said that the outpouring of support from Disney as well as the Star Wars community was overwhelming and they were all humbled by everyone’s support.
A dying Star Wars fan in England got to see #TheRiseOfSkywalker today at @RowansHospice with his family, thanks to @Disney and @RobertIger. Here's a photo of the patient and his son, who wanted to remain safely anonymous. @ABC pic.twitter.com/gLOnANqYrT
