Is THIS The Final Tour?
So, Motley Crue is reuniting and will be touring next year with Def Leppard and Poison. Here’s what we know…
Before their “Final Tour” they said they would never play live again.
-They signed a contact saying so.
-Mick said “Let me put it this way: If that happens, I will invite the world to come for free.”
-Nikki said “There is no amount of money that would ever make me do it again because I have such pride in how we’re ending it.”
-Vince told me in an interview that it was over and that the band wasn’t breaking up, just not touring anymore.
Now, I’m a fan. The first concert I ever went to was the Shout At The Devil tour when the were opening for Ozzy. I own all their albums, have met and interviewed every member of the band several times. I even saw them in 1994 with John Corabi fronting the band. (That was an awesome album, btw!)
All that being said, I think it’s total garbage that they’re doing this. I suppose you could say that everyone saw this coming. But, I mean, four years after walking off stage? They couldn’t wait ten years or something? It’s a total money-grab. Hear me out, I wouldn’t pass on the cash as well, but after all the hoopla of the final tour it seems wrong on all fronts.
Is THIS the final tour? Or will they tour again in 2022? I saw Ozzy’s No More Tours tour 27 years ago. Oh, and the final KISS tour…. That’s still going on. I don’t begrudge these guys for going out and making a living. Just stop using the final tour BS to get people to come out, then come back a couple years later.
The only final tour that meant anything was the one The Tragically Hip did before the death of singer Gord Downie. That really was a last tour.
All that being said, I’ll see you at the show! LOL!!
