Guitar Great Joe Bonamassa On The Fox Theater
Joe Bonamassa brings his amazing guitar talents to Detroit for a show Friday night. He’s my most recent guest on the Talkin’ Rock podcast, and was so much fun to talk to. You can listen the interview here. I tell people this all the time, musicians LOVE playing the Motor City. I’ve had countless artists tell me, away from the mic, how much they enjoy coming here.
Joe is playing at the Fox Theater and during our conversation he went out of his way to talk about how beautiful the theater is. He called it “The nicest theater, not only in the country, but the world, that we play”. That’s some high praise from someone who’s played all over the world. Not having been to as many venues as he’s been to, I’ll take his word for it.
-Meltdown-
Meltdown started on the mighty WRIF on the evening of Halloween, 1995. Technically, his first on-air shift was the morning of November 1st. Moving to the Motor City from Buffalo, N.Y., he has built a career and family. Over his almost three-decade stint at RIFF, he's had the privilege to work with some of the biggest personalities in Detroit radio history. He boasts of being just the second-afternoon drive jock in the station's illustrious 53-year history.
Along with his love for rock music and attending concerts, he's also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and hockey player. He plays year-round and manages to squeeze in a few charity games throughout the year. Meltdown writes about the Detroit Red Wings, rock music, and Detroit concert venues.
