It's a sad day in Metro Detroit. A house fire early Monday morning took the lives of 9-year-old Logan Connolly and 11-year-old Briggs Connolly, both of which were hockey players with the St. Clair Shores and the Grosse Pointe hockey programs.

The St. Clair Shores Hockey Association posted this yesterday:

As many of you may know, a member of our St. Clair Shores Hockey family experienced a tremendous loss this morning due to a house fire in Grosse Pointe.

Please join the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association for a prayer service for the children, parents, family, friends, and neighborhood as we mourn this tragic loss. Everyone is welcome to come together so we can pray for the family during this difficult time.

Hockey players are asked to wear their jerseys as a sign of solidarity and support for the family.
